Policies and Guidelines
The promotion of best practice in youth drama is one of the core goals of NAYD. To this end, NAYD continually develops policies and guidelines to support youth theatres and practitioners; youth theatres are welcome to adapt sample policies to suit their own particular circumstances.
Garda Vetting Policy
As of 1st September 2006, it is mandatory that all new personnel, working full time, part time and/or in a voluntary capacity, with regular contact with children or young people obtain a disclosure certificate from the Garda Central Vetting Unit (GCVU).
NAYD is a Registered Organisation with the GCVU so we can submit vetting applications on behalf of our members.
We have drafted a policy which is downloadable below. NAYD member youth theatres should read this policy and make any necessary adjustments to their existing Child Protection/Welfare Guidelines
