Find a Play
Tearing your hair out trying to find the right script for your group? One of the many challenges in producing quality youth theatre is sourcing material which will meet the practical needs of individual groups and challenge both audiences and performers alike.
Playshare
Playshare is a collection of plays suitable for youth drama and theatre groups, made available through NAYD.
All Playshare scripts have been written specifically for young people. They vary in length, content and style, but all have been produced by a youth theatre/youth drama group at least once.
Playshare 2011
Playshare has now been updated for 2011 with 12 new plays added.

We Want Your Plays...
NAYD is currently looking for plays for inclusion in our Playshare collection. All Playshare scripts have been written specially for or commissioned by/for young people. They vary in length, content and style, but all have been produced at least once.
If you feel that you have a work that has already been performed by a youth theatre and could be suitable for inclusion, please submit an up to date, typed, clean hard to Alan King, NAYD, 7 North Great George's Street, Dublin 1.
Please ensure the name of the author is clearly stated on the front page of the script along with current contact details for them.
A separate short synopsis (150 words or less) of the play. Ensure that approximate running time, cast size, male/female ratio and the name of the group who first performed the play with the date of the first performance are included.
If you have any background notes for the play including production and technical challenges or reflective responses you or members may have to the script, please include these too. If a hard copy does not exist Word or pdf versions can be emailed to
The deadline for submission of plays for this year will be 30 September 2011.
