Garda Vetting

As of 1st September 2006, Garda Vetting was extended to cover non-statutory sectors such as youth work and the voluntary sector. It is now accepted best practice to vet all staff/volunteers with substantial unsupervised access to children and young people.

NAYD is a Registered Organisation with the GCVU so can submit vetting applications on behalf of our affiliated youth theatres.

Applying for Garda Vetting involves completing an official Garda Vetting application form.

Employing Outside Professionals

Workshops, productions, events - there are many times when a youth theatre group engages an outside professional. With the right balance of planning, communication and vision, this partnership can be of major benefit to all parties involved. Joint Ventures offers guidance to youth theatres and outside professional theatre practitioners working together.

A number of advice sheets accompany the guidelines.
