YDI Round-Up: Make sure your youth theatre is part of it.

Youth Drama Ireland is NAYD’s annual journal and a must-read for the youth theatre sector. It is important that the work of affiliated youth theatres is at the heart of the publication. The Round-up section for this year will document youth theatre activity in 2014. It will be a testament to the productivity and innovation of groups all over Ireland. NOW is the time to make sure your youth theatre is represented! The closing date for sending us your round-up information is 08 October.

Speaking Our Language: Call for YT members to participate in Irish language youth drama residential

Ar mhaith leat páirt a ghlacadh i tréimshe chónaithe le ceardlanna drámaíochta i nGaeilge le linn an briseadh mean-téarma i mí Deireadh Fomhair?

Tá an NAYD ag lorg grúpa baill atá toilteanach páirt a ghlacadh I ceardlanna drámaíochta trí Ghaeilge le linn clár dhrámaíochta óige trí lá in Ionad Ealaíne an Axis, Baile Munna. Is gá go mbeidh na rannpháirtithe compóirdeach agus iad ag labhairt gaeilge, ach ní gá go mbeidh said líofa.

Ta an tréimshe chónaithe ‘Ár dTeanga Féin’ ag tarlú ar thoradh páirtnéireacht nua idir an NAYD agus Axis chun choimisiúinú a dhéanamh ar dráma Gaeilge d’ensembles óga. Tabharfaidh an obair a fhorbaítear le linn an tréimshe chónaithe ionspioráid don scríbhneoir a cheapfar a beidh mear duine de na drámadóirí ag cur an clár chun cinn.

Would you like to take part in a residential programme of drama workshops through Irish during the October mid-term break?

NAYD is seeking a group of youth theatre members who are willing to participate in drama workshops conducted through Irish for a three-day youth drama programme, taking place at the Axis Arts Centre in Ballymun, Dublin. Participants should be comfortable with conversational Irish but they don’t have to be fluent.

The ‘Speaking Our Language’ residential is taking place as part of a new partnership between NAYD and Axis to commission a play for young ensembles in the Irish language. The work carried out during the residential will provide inspiration for the commissioned playwright who will also be one of the theatre artists leading the programme.
