NYT Cast and Play Announced

Over 120 youth theatre members auditioned for this year's National Youth Theatre. It was extremely difficult to choose a cast of 16 but we can now announce the cast that will take to the Peacock stage from 23 - 28 August. They will be performing A Dream Play by August Strindberg, in a version by Caryl Churchill. The production is directed by Jimmy Fay

Tickets are now on sale through the Abbey Box Office on 01 8787222 or on-line. There is a special youth theatre members rate of 12 Euro! Tickets tend to sell out so early booking advised.

Carne-val Time!!!

13 youth theatres will be heading to Carne,  Wexford to  take part in the National Festival of Youth Theatres at the end of June.

ArtsTrain Recruiting

NAYD's drama facilitation training programme is now recruiting for the next course to begin in September. The closing date to register interest is 18 June.


Youth Theatre Supports

Application forms  are now available for the new YT  Support Scheme. Closing dates at the end of June  for Youth Theatre Partnerships and Theatre Skills Training.

Dreamstuff Youth Theatre (Kilkenny) present two days of performances and other activities in the wonderful surroundings of Rothe House and Garden.

New devised play from CYT who are celebrating their 20th birthday! The venue is Aras Chronain, Clondalkin. Directed by Annie Clery

12-24 July

Galway Youth Theatre have two productions in this year's Galway Arts Festival. They are Citizenship by Mark Ravenhill and Tusk Tusk by Polly Stenhan.


Dublin Youth Theatre– Summer School (Selection workshop)

9 June

Dublin Youth Theatre are holding a summer school for young people from immigrant communities between the ages of 14 and 21 who live in Dublin. A selection workshop will take place on 9th June in DYT premises. More info email DYT


Clare Youth Theatre– Summer School

28 June - 2 July

Clare Youth Theatre are holding a summer school in Glor entitled Let Me Act. The venue is Glor, Ennis. It is open to young people aged 13-18. Bookings through Glor Box Office

Leargas are holding a Youth In  Action Information Day on 7 July in the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley, Dublin.  The day will include a general overview of the EU Youth In Action programme but also look at accessing funding for specific activities such as Youth Exchanges and Youth  Initiatives. The next closing date for the Artist In The Community Scheme is June 25. This is an Arts Council scheme administered by Create and  exists to support communities of place or interest in working closely with an artist to realise a project. Open to all artforms including theatre.
