Making Connections
NAYD has recently hosted a meeting of European youth theatre leaders
to plan a European training event to take place in June 2010. There

NYT
2010
NYT is back in
2010. This year's production will be directed by Jimmy Fay and will be
on stage at the Peacock Theatre from 23 - 28 August. Jimmy is an award
winning director who is currently directing Macbeth at the
Abbey
Theatre.
Workshop
auditions for youth theatre members aged 16+ will take place in April
in a number of locations around the country with call-back auditions
taking place in May. The cast will be resident in Dublin for five
weeks from 25 July. More details of the production coming

Funding

The closing date for Arts Council's Project Awards is 1 April. Awards
will be made in a number of areas including Arts Participation and
Theatre.
Guidelines
are available from the Arts Council website. Application forms will
only be available through the new Arts Council online services website
and will be available from 11 March. To find out more information, visit the

The Arts Council are bringing young people together to hear their views
about cultural life and the arts. Art-Youth-Culture:
FYI will be held
over three days in Dublin at the end of March and will involve a series
of arts-based workshops and discussions concluding in meetings

Young Critics 2010
The first weekend on this year's Young Critics programme will take
place from 23-25 April. Sixteen youth theatre members will come
together to attend and discuss theatre productions.

Have
you
visited the NAYD website resources section recently? Not only do
we have a number of Advice Sheets on running a youth theatre, welfare
etc. but you will also find a section devoted to workshops that have
been tried and tested in the youth drama space. Visit
Resources.

NAYD has teamed up with the National Youth Council of Ireland to offer
a one-day training course introducing simple directing techniques for
working with young people. Topics will range from choosing suitable
scripts to devising with a group. The day will also explore simple
staging and production ideas. It will take place in Dubin on 30th March
and is designed for those who work and volunteer within the youth work
sector.
