Go See NYT

Tickets are selling fast for this year's National Youth Theatre production of The Seagull. It will be on-stage from the 24 - 29 August in the Peacock, Dublin. We've extended our Go See YT scheme to help cover the costs of youth theatre groups who are attending a performance. Contact us for more info.

The Youth Arts Development Award and the Artist in Youth Work Scheme are administered by the National Youth Council of Ireland and seek to promote quality youth arts experiences for young people in the non-formal sector. The closing date is 1st September. More info at www.youtharts.ie

The Artist in the Community scheme is funded by the Arts Council and administered by Create. It exists to enable artists and communities to work together on Arts projects, The closing date is 25 June. More info at www.create-ireland.ie

The National Youth Council of Ireland is now accepting applications for the Certificate in Youth Arts. The accrediting body is NUI Maynooth and it will commence in October 2009.

The course is suitable for those working with young people in a non-formal education setting.The closing date is Friday 10 July, 2009. The full prospectus and application forms are available from www.youtharts.ie

ArtsTrain, NAYD's youth drama facilitation training programme, is now recruiting for the next course to begin in September. Application forms are now available. The closing date is 10 July.

The closing date for the next round of Garda Vetting is Friday 25 September. Vetting is only open to volunteers/staff of youth theatres affiliated to NAYD.

CSYT are currently seeking a Youth Theatre Director. The role includes facilitation of workshops, producing at least one annual production and coordinating and managing youth theatre activities.

We have added a number of new resources for youth theatres to the Advice Centre section of our website. These include practical advice sheets, sample policies and forms. Among the areas covered are recruitment of members, staffing and welfare.

We will continue to add to this section and welcome feedback and suggestions for resources you feel would be helpful in the running of your youth theatre.
