NYT Tickets now on Sale

The National Youth Theatre 2011 is now open for business. The cast, director Mikel Murfi and artistic team have spent three days together developing ideas for the devised production entitled It Only Ever Happens In The Movies.....  Tickets are now on sale for the production on stage at the Peacock Theatre, Dublin from 22-27 August. Bookings are through  the Abbey Theatre Box Office.

There is a special ticket rate for youth theatre members. Please contact the Box Office on 01-8787222 for more information.

Adieu to Orlaith

NAYD Director Orlaith McBride is leaving to take up the role of Director of the Arts Council. While we congratulate her whole heartedly, we are very sorry to see her go. Orlaith has been director of NAYD since 2003 and has overseen a extremely busy and productive period for the organisation.

NAYD Seeks Director

NAYD is now accepting applications for the role of Director. A full job description is now available to download. Applicants are required to submit a letter of application and a short outline of their vision for NAYD over the next five years.Closing date is 22 July.

Kilkenny Here We Come....

Final preparations are being made for the National Festival of Youth Theatres, 6-10 July in Kilkenny. 13 youth theatres are coming to participate in an exciting workshop and social programme. A memorable event is guaranteed!

From the original German text, directed by Simon Thomspon of Orchard Theatre Company. Venue is the Belltable Arts Centre

Waterford Youth Arts - A New Production

22-27 August
WYA's older drama group (15-19 years) will devise a new show with the help of Adam Wallace, it will be directed by Scott Johnston. The venue is Garter Lane

Thursday 14th July is the closing date for the next round of Arts Council Bursary Awards. Included in this round is the Young People, Children and Education Bursary Award.  Applications are through the Arts Council's online services website. The Murros Youth Theatre Festival for Young People is taking place in Finland from 25-27 November 2011. It will consist of performances by young people aged 13-20. Participating groups pay their own travel costs. Food and accommodation will be covered by the festival organisers. For more info, contact Rhona in NAYD.
