30th January is the closing date for entries for this year's Fresh Film Festival. There are two categories ages 7-12 and 13-18. Films must be 15 minutes or less in length. There is an entry fee of 10 Euro per film. Visit The Fresh Film Festival Web site

The next application deadline for Youth Exchanges under the Youth In Action programme is 1st February 2009. It is necessary to engage in the preliminary assessment process so applications should reach Leargas before 15th January. Contact Leargas for more information

The next meeting of the network of youth drama facilitators and leaders takes place in Cavan on Sunday 18th January. New participants are welcome.

Next Round Garda Vetting

Our fact sheet on insurance for youth theatres is almost ready to be uploaded to our website. It offers advice on finding the most suitable type(s) of insurance for your group. It will be only accessible by members and will be in the resources section of our website.

The Cork Opera House have developed a scheme for secondary school students so that they can avail of substantially discounted tickets for theatre and music performances.

The next closing date for receipt of Garda Vetting forms is Friday 30th January.

To ensure efficient processing of applications, we have developed a cover sheet that must be returned with every completed Garda Vetting form. Contact the NAYD office for forms.
